My sister-in-law loves moose - especially at Christmas. I found the Riley and Company website which has Riley's for all occasions. I found some brown moose card stock at my favorite card/scrapbooking store Memories of Time and voila- Riley the Moose getting his Christmas tree.
I first stamped the Oregon lighthouse image on Neenah Solar White which had been put through my Big Shot with a Spellbinders die. I then ever so slightly sponged it with SU Chocolate Chip ink. I attached it to a bit larger piece of SU Basic Black CS and set it aside. I then took a piece of SU Ivory Naturals CS and tore around the edges. I did this freehand, but there are tearing rulers out there to help with this, too. I then put it in a Cuttlebug EF and ran it though my Big Shot. After that, I sponged around the edges and on the raised script that was created from the EF. I stamped the sentiment, then attached it to a bit larger piece of SU Basic Black CS, put some brads in the corners, attached the image to that, and put al of that on a base of SU Chocolate Chip CS.
The first one I created is very colorful. I stamped the Oregon light house image on Neenah Solar White and colored with copic markers. Although I like how it turned out, it's not how I had intended it to look when I started. I then sponged with SU colors. I used a Sailor's Knot tutorial from Paper Pursuits to make the sailor's knot. I cut various paper from my stash of scraps and assembled. ![]() |

I wanted to create a card that I could mass produce to send out this Christmas. It needed to be fairly simple to do, I wanted to use a lot of the supplies that I have in my stash, and most importantly, I wanted it to be me!
Can't believe I already saw some Christmas lights outside a house I drove by - the stores already have Christmas things, so why not, I guess..............!?!!!??
This card was created for the Penny Black Octoberfest challenge. Our local scrapbooking store Memories of Time carries her stamps and I was lucky enough to get one of the last ones! I LOVE the hedgehogs!! They're so cute! (Remember the Woodsies from the late 70's?- I think my daughter still has the playset!) I digress.... the card was really easy to do, layout is my biggest challenge, probably because the ideas out there are limitless.![]() |
Hello! Well, here goes, my first post to my "blog". I never thought I would do this, but through the encouragement from my friends, decided it was time. So, the first card I will post is the latest card I've created. My husband's birthday is in about three weeks, but he won't be home for it again this year, so, I made his card, we went to dinner, and I gave him his birthday present and card before he leaves for work. He has lots of "toys" but one of his favorites is his Harley, so I thought it only fitting that his card be of a motorcycle. I used the SU Motorcycle stamp on Nenah Solar White Paper, used a Cuddlebug EF (can't see the detail well in the photo), Happy Birthday on SU Basic Black paper, with a contrasting print of SU Design Series "Cast-A-Spell". Distress Black Soot was used to stamp the image and I used SU colors to sponge around the image, and Copic markers to color the image. I used accent pens to highlight the chrome - chrome is important to a Harley owner!!!
