The candle was decorated with a piece of tissue paper which was stamped with an OCL stamp and colored with Copic markers, then adhered to the tealight candle with a heat gun.

Christmas Box

My Bay Area Sunrise Rotary Club had a progressive dinner to celebrate the holidays.  There were four members who hosted four different courses during the evening.  I gave each one a thank you gift which was this little box that I made using my Scor-Pal and instructions from Kisa Peters, a designer for Our Craft Lounge.  Inside the box I put gift tags, a candle, and a candy. On the outside of the box I put a thank you tag made from the same set.
The tags were colored with Copic markers and distressed and sponged with SU Brocade Blue.  The candle was decorated with a piece of tissue paper which was stamped with an OCL stamp and colored with Copic markers, then adhered to the tealight candle with a heat gun.

Riley the Moose Christmas

Hello everyone!  I hope you all had a great Christmas and got everything you wanted!  I've been busy this past month or two making cards, getting ready for Christmas, just being busy which most of you have been too, I'll bet!

My sister-in-law loves moose - especially at Christmas.  I found the Riley and Company website which has Riley's for all occasions.  I found some brown moose card stock at my favorite card/scrapbooking store Memories of Time and voila- Riley the Moose getting his Christmas tree.
I colored with Copic Markers and sponged with Stampin'Up!

Birthday Wishes

As you know, I had a difficult time of deciding which of these lighthouse cards to send to my family member on the east coast.  Although Massachusetts is and has been his home forever, he still likes Oregon a lot, so the stamp set Coast to Coast from SU is what I decided to use.
I first stamped the Oregon lighthouse image on Neenah Solar White which had been put through my Big Shot with a Spellbinders die.  I then ever so slightly sponged it with SU Chocolate Chip ink.  I attached it to a bit larger piece of SU Basic Black CS and set it aside.  I then took a piece of SU Ivory Naturals CS and tore around the edges.  I did this freehand, but there are tearing rulers out there to help with this, too.  I then put it in a Cuttlebug EF and ran it though my Big Shot.  After that, I sponged around the edges and on the raised script that was created from the EF. I stamped the sentiment, then attached it to a bit larger piece of SU Basic Black CS, put some brads in the corners, attached the image to that, and put al of that on a base of SU Chocolate Chip CS.

DETAILS
STAMPS:  Coast to Coast - SU; Birthday Wishes - OCL
PAPER:  Neenah Solar White; SU Basic Black, Chocolate Chip, Naturals Ivory
INK:  SU Basic Black and Chocolate Chip
ACCESSORIES:  Brads from $$ Store, SU sponges & daubers

As you can see, I tore the paper and sponged around it on the inside of the card.  I think it makes the card complete to do something nice inside, too!

Well, which one do you think I sent?  If you chose this one you win the cookie, or whatever - maybe just agreeing with me is enough!?!!

Thanks for stopping by and for leaving comments!  Become a follower - you never know what I'll do next!

Birthday Wishes

Happy Halloween everyone! I wish everyone a safe and fun-filled day.  I don't get any trick-or-treaters where I live here out in the country, but I still have my house decorated.  The dogs and cat and I enjoy them, but they're coming down after today!  Then more fall and Thanksgiving things can go up. I guess I just love decorating!!!

Our family has a few birthdays that fall right on or either side of Halloween.  When I make their cards I make them anything other than Halloween. So the first one is for a member of the family on the east coast in Massachusetts.  History galore back there, but he just loves Oregon.  I used a stamp from the SU set Coast to Coast.  I actually made two cards and until it came time to put it in the envelope to send, I didn't know which one I would use.

The first one I created is very colorful.  I stamped the Oregon light house image on Neenah Solar White and colored with copic markers.  Although I like how it turned out, it's not how I had intended it to look when I started. I then sponged with SU colors.  I used a Sailor's Knot tutorial from Paper Pursuits to make the sailor's knot. I cut various paper from my stash of scraps and assembled.

The Horror Team

I love the Penny Black hedgehogs so when I saw this stamp I just HAD to get it!!  All after my pledge (well plea to myself) that I had enough stamps and didn't need to get any more!?!  Well, you see how far that got me!?!!!!
I stamped the image on Neenah Solar White paper, then colored with Copic markers - I'm loving them more and more each time I use them!!  I cut the card stock and designer paper and assembled.  This was an easy project which turned out quite cute- even if I do say so myself!!!  I'm sending it to my Grandson!!!

Well that's it for now - stop by again!

OCL Wedding Card

This spring my friends Stacy and Josh were married and this is my Congratulations card to them!  Their colors were brown and turquoise so when I made their card I decided it should be the same.
I used a layout similar to one my friend Cami from OCL had done for a layout.  Personally, I think imitation is the best form of flattery, so I love getting ideas from others and am not hesitant to use them!

Using  the OCL stamp set "Bride and Groom", I first stamped on Neenah Solar White. I also used the SU stamp "L is for Love".  I colored the cake with SU markers.  One of the things I like best about Stampin'Up! is the color coordination!!

I used the turqoise ribbon from the wedding invitation, used my BigShot and Nestabilities, some Crystal Effects and assembled.  And, the neatest thing - the actual wedding cake was almost identical to this one!!!!

Stacy assures me that this card is now in their wedding album!!

Hope you enjoyed and I'll see you next time!

Happy Dance

My friend Tammie is having a birthday so of course I needed to make a card she would be happy to receive.  We just love Penny Black's hedgehogs so when I realized I had picked up this cute stamp at another friends garage sale, I "jumped" at the chance to use it!

I stamped the Penny Black "Ecarte, Splits, Pirouette" on Neenah Solar White and colored with copic markers.  I then started layering with Imaginations DP, embellished with punched flowers, rhinestones, and ribbons. A background CS was done using a Sissix EF.

Oh - I think she liked it!!
See you soon, and thanks for stopping by!

Dasher

I wanted to create a card that I could mass produce to send out this Christmas.  It needed to be fairly simple to do, I wanted to use a lot of the supplies that I have in my stash, and most importantly, I wanted it to be me!
I stamped the image Dasher from SU on Neenah Solar White which I had die cut ahead of time using my BigShot and Spellbinders die. What I like about this stamp is that is does not require any coloring!  But, the challenge with this image is that you have to sand it so it doesn't have splotches of white come through.  Finally I got it so it is solid!!  I also used my Bigshot with the SU EF Petals-a-Plenty for the main background. Other than that, it was cut and assemble.

Can't believe I already saw some Christmas lights outside a house I drove by - the stores already have Christmas things, so why not, I guess..............!?!!!??

Hope to see you next time!

To a Full Stocking

This card was created for the Penny Black Octoberfest challenge.  Our local scrapbooking store Memories of Time carries her stamps and I was lucky enough to get one of the last ones! I LOVE the hedgehogs!!  They're so cute! (Remember the Woodsies from the late 70's?- I think my daughter still has the playset!) I digress.... the card was really easy to do, layout is my biggest challenge, probably because the ideas out there are limitless.
The image "To a Full Stockng" from Penny Black is stamped on Nenah Solar White and colored with copic markers.  I used OCL Sparkly Fluff on the socks and the ground. I sponged a bit of SU Cherry Cobler ink around the edges of the image.  I layered the image with SU papers (LOVE how they coordinate) Cherry Cobler CS, Jolly Holiday designer series.

Happy Birthday, Honey!

Hello!  Well, here goes, my first post to my "blog".  I never thought I would do this, but through the encouragement from my friends, decided it was time.  So, the first card I will post is the latest card I've created.  My husband's birthday is in about three weeks, but he won't be home for it again this year, so, I made his card, we went to dinner, and I gave him his birthday present and card before he leaves for work.  He has lots of "toys" but one of his favorites is his Harley, so I thought it only fitting that his card be of a motorcycle.  I used the SU Motorcycle stamp on Nenah Solar White Paper, used a Cuddlebug EF (can't see the detail well in the photo), Happy Birthday on SU Basic Black paper, with a contrasting print of SU Design Series "Cast-A-Spell".  Distress Black Soot was used to stamp the image and I used SU colors to sponge around the image, and Copic markers to color the image. I used accent pens to highlight the chrome - chrome is important to a Harley owner!!!
I'll post some of my previous cards soon, but for now, wish me luck with this and wish my husband a Happy Birthday!
Becky

PS He really liked his card!!!!
